Streets of Omak, Washington in 1910
Streets of Omak, Washington in 1910
TitleStreets of Omak, Washington in 1910
PhotographerMatsura, Frank S.
DescriptionThe town of Omak, incorporated in 1907, really began to develop after the completion of the Okanogan Irrigation Project. Much of the land near Omak fell under the project's irrigation boundaries, and farmers scurried to find the choicest plots. As seen from the picture, Omak's main streets were dry and dusty, lending some idea to what farming must have been like prior to irrigation.
